Altabank
Justin Barnes, a longtime commercial lender in Cedar City, has joined Altabank as SVP and branch manager. He comes to Altabank after more than eight years with State Bank of Southern Utah.
Chase Shumway has joined Altabank as AVP and relationship manager in the North Logan branch. Prior to that, he spent more than 15 years with JP Morgan Chase and Co.
Chris Koch has rejoined Altabank as a mortgage loan officer in the St. George, River Road branch.
Bank of Utah
Sean Morrison has been appointed senior vice president of Human Resources. He joins the bank at a pivotal time of growth, as the organization has expanded its assets by nearly 40% since January 2023 and welcomed many talented new team members. Morrison will lead the HR team in supporting the bank’s evolving needs, enhancing organizational capabilities and furthering a progressive approach to human resources.
Kathy Bizek is the new branch manager at the Salt Lake City, Redwood Office. Kathy brings just over two decades of finance experience to her new position, starting as a teller and working her way through many varied roles to branch manager.
Kevin Thompson has been hired as a new loan officer at their St. George location. Kevin is one of two interns who received a full-time offer from Bank of Utah after their inaugural internship program in 2024.
Celtic Bank
Andrew DeLuca has joined Celtic Bank as general counsel. Andrew brings a wealth of experience, particularly in the auto finance industry, where his legal expertise has been instrumental in driving business success. A graduate of both the University of Notre Dame and Vanderbilt Law School, Andrew’s strong educational background complements his professional accomplishments.

Brian Jones has been appointed president of Merrick Bank, replacing Rick Lake. Jones had served as Merrick’s general counsel for 19 years.

Garrett Cottam was recently promoted to chief credit officer. Garrett has been with State Bank of Southern Utah for 19 years, previously as a branch manager and a commercial lender in multiple branches, and most recently as an area lending manager.
Shane Adams was promoted to lending director. Shane has been with State Bank of Southern Utah for 21 years, and has worked in several branches as an agricultural and commercial lender. He was most recently working as an area lending manager for the northern region.
Winston Young recently joined the team at State Bank of Southern Utah as a commercial lender. Winston has been in banking for more than 20 years, and he has a passion for developing meaningful relationships with customers and the community.
