U.S. Bank also tracks and reports its community lending, education and volunteer activities in the spirit of the federal Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) as well as in its annual Corporate Citizenship Report. WELLS FARGO Improving Neighborhoods Wells Fargo donated $50,000 to NeighborWorks ® Salt Lake (NWSL) to further its revitaliza- tion efforts in local communities. NWSL creates safe, affordable housing by acquiring foreclosed/ blighted properties, repairing them and offering homeownership coun- seling services to increase homeownership rates in targeted neighborhoods. The $50,000 donation to NWSL was part of $6 million in grants Wells Fargo awarded to 59 nonprofits across the country through its 2012 Leading the Way Home® program Priority Markets Initiative to help stabilize and revitalize neighbor- hoods hard-hit by the economy. Dinner At Vinny’s Dinner at Vinny’s, a program of Catholic Community Services (CCS), provides meals to more than 600 hungry and homeless individuals each night in Salt Lake City. In addition to Wells Fargo’s financial support, dozens of team members volunteer each month by making hundreds of sandwiches, serving meals and cleaning up. Wells Fargo Equipment Finance also recently donated a forklift to CCS, which has allowed a local food distributor to provide produce for the homeless meals. Without the forklift, the produce could not have been donated to CCS and would have been unused. Affordable Housing Projects Nearly 150 Wells Fargo team members have volunteered at one of a dozen single family, afford- able housing projects across Utah in 2012. In addition to volunteer service, the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation also donated $175,000 to the nonprofits sponsoring these 12 affordable housing projects. n S usan E.
