Issue 2. 2015 5 (August 20, 2015—Salt Lake City, UT) The Utah Bankers Association has elected new officers and board members for 2015-2016. The new Chair of the UBA is Jill Taylor, Regional President of KeyBank where she has responsibility for KeyBank in Colorado, Idaho and Utah. KeyBank's opera- tions in the Rocky Mountain Region include 135 branches and more than 700 employees. Craig A. White, President & CEO, Utah Independent Bank, Beaver, was elected Vice Chairman and Ron Ostler, Chairman Comenity Capital Bank, Salt Lake City, was elected 2nd Vice President. Ms. Taylor began her banking career as a part-time teller at Bank One while attending college. She joined KeyBank in 2004 after serving as First Vice President and Retail District Manager for Bank One in Utah. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in communications from the University of Utah. She is active in a number of charitable and community endeavors. She currently sits on the boards of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah, the Utah Bankers Association, United Way of Salt Lake, Utah Valley University’s School of Business and Westminster College Institute for New Enterprise. She was recently named a member of the Board of Trustees for Utah Valley University. Mr. White's bank has branches in three small southern Utah com- munities. In 1995, he became President and CEO of UIB and serves on the Community Bank Advisory Board. He has been President of the Beaver Chamber of Commerce and has been very active in community, family, church and Scouting affairs. Currently he serves as Boy Scout District Commissioner. Mr. Ostler joined Comenity Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Alliance Data Systems, Inc. in November 2004, just a few months after the bank was organized. He was the bank’s President from 2011- 2014 and was recently promoted to Chairman of the Bank. Prior to being named President, he was the bank’s Chief Lending and Compliance Officer. Directors newly elected to the Utah Bankers Association Board are: Richard T. Beard, President and CEO, People's First Bancorp and President of Bank of American Fork, American Fork, who was chairman of the Board of Directors of Western Independent Bank- ers, and is currently the Past Chairman. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Utah College of Law. K. John Jones, President & CEO, First National Bank, Layton, who was appointed President in 2007 and became Chief Executive Officer the next year. Prior to First National Bank of Layton, he worked for Olympus Savings Bank and Zions Bank. Donald Poulton, President & CEO, Medallion Bank, Salt Lake City - Prior to joining Medallion Bank in 2003, he was with American Investment Bank and American Investment Financial. Erich Sontag, President, Intermountain Banking, AmericanWest Bank, Salt Lake City. Frank K. Stepan, Executive Director, Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A., Salt Lake City, who oversees the headquarters office of Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. He currently serves on the Board of Direc- tors of Community Development Corporation of Utah. Continuing their service as directors are: Brad Baldwin, Presi- dent & CEO, First Utah Bank, Salt Lake City; Robert Garinger, President & CEO, American Express Centurion Bank, New York; Richard Lake, President & CEO, Merrick Bank, Salt Lake City; Mark Packard, Senior Executive Vice President, Central Bank, Springville; and Katie Spratling, President, Holladay Bank, Holladay. Also continuing as directors are: A. Scott Anderson, President & CEO, Zions First National Bank; Damon G. Miller, Utah Market President, US Bank; Dee O’Donnell, Utah Regional President, Wells Fargo, Salt Lake City; and Craig Zollinger, President & CEO, Utah and Idaho JPMorgan Chase. Immediate Past Chair- man of the UBA Kelvin Anderson, President & CEO, Optum Bank, Salt Lake City, UT will also continue his service on the Board. Howard M. Headlee serves as President and Chief Staff Officer for the professional and trade association for Utah's commercial banks, savings banks, and industrial loan corporations. Estab- lished in 1908, the UBA serves, represents and advocates the interests of its members, enhancing their ability to be preeminent providers of financial services.
