www.uba.org 20 Utah Bankers Association Comenity Capital bank is a member of the Utah Bankers Association (UBA) and partners with the UBA to improve financial literacy. The bank works together with the Gov- ernor’s Office to teach money management skills to Utah’s children but also adults that could benefit in learning these principles. So far the bank employees have taught in schools, religious organizations, scout troops and even colleges. The main courses include teaching children about credit and how to save. These opportunities have helped the employees demon- strate alignment and appreciation for the teachers and administrators who feel as we do: that the children in our country need to be taught how to manage their money. As the bank continues to grow, they look forward to con- tinuing with both programs and exploring more opportuni- ties for the benefit of the community. ENERBANK TWO ENERBANK USA EXECUTIVES NAMED AMONG UTAH’S 30 WOMEN TO WATCH CFO Kristin Dittmer and EVP Dawn Cannon were awarded for business and community service achievements Utah Business Magazine recognized two EnerBank USA executives today during its 17th annual “30 Women to Watch” awards banquet at Salt Lake City’s Grand America Hotel, and the duo were featured in the magazine’s May issue. Kristin Dittmer, EnerBank’s Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, and Dawn Cannon, EnerBank’s Executive Vice President of Bank Operations, were award- ed for their impact on Utah business and community service. Each year, the magazine salutes successful and influential women for their work in contributing to their industry and Utah’s business community. To make the magazine’s list, each awardee must meet cri- teria which includes leadership accomplishments, business and industry impact, and community service. Recipients are nominated by community members and are selected by a panel comprising former awardees of the “30 Women to Watch.” Dittmer, who became CFO in January, first came to Ener- Bank in 2010, serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. Dittmer serves on the Utah Small Business Growth Initia- tive’s Credit Committee and as Chair of the CFO Round- table Committee of the Utah Association of Financial Services. She also has been serving as a Mentor for the Utah Bankers Association Executive Development Pro- gram and recently joined the Advisory Board of the David Eccles School of Business Opportunity Scholars Program, through which she will expand her mentoring to include first-generation college students. “She cares about other people, and she puts their needs ahead of her own,” said Charlie Knadler, EnerBank’s CEO. Cannon, who has worked at EnerBank for more than a dozen years, is a mentor to women at the Bank, in the industry and in the Salt Lake area. She serves on the Executive Board of People Helping People, an organization that mentors low-income women, primarily single mothers, who are unemployed or under- employed. Cannon developed processes and systems so the Bank could accommodate its rapid growth, and they continue to provide excellent service to customers. She also led the effort to consolidate the company’s headquarters to Salt Lake City. "She was a significant reason why I joined EnerBank," says Rob Palmer, Senior Vice President of Information Technology.
