Issue 1. 2017 19 The Utah Bankers Association proudly presented Certificates of Completion to the 2017 class of the UBA Small Business Banking Development Program (SBBDP). Classes recently wrapped up for the three-month program which focuses on building a strong strategy on how to solicit and serve small business effectively. The SBBDP is part of the UBA’s ongoing commitment to help develop leaders and build a strong future for the banking industry in Utah. She has previously served in a variety of roles with Zions Bank, from teller to treasury sales manager. She will be responsible to manage and lead the Corporate Services division, which includes Treasury Management and 1031 Exchange. In 2013, Crystal gradu- ated from the University of Utah Executive MBA program; she also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. Susan Sorenson was recently announced as Bank of American Fork’s Murray branch manager. She is responsible for overseeing the branch and ensuring it remains profitable. Sorenson has spent more than 16 years with Bank of American Fork and is excited for the opportunity to work with the bank staff and the community in Murray. Travis Soto is currently the Treasurer for EnerBank USA. A banking professional with over 20 years of experience, Mr. Soto has served in various finance and treasury roles for several Utah based financial institutions. Lance Stott of State Bank of Southern Utah has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Lance joined the SBSU family in the Spring of 2016 as the Branch Manager of our Richfield location. Sam Taylor has been named branch manager for Bank of American Fork’s Riverton branch. Taylor has been with the Bank for 11 years, and prior to joining the Riverton branch, he worked as branch man- ager and commercial loan officer at the Murray branch. He is excited to work with the Riverton community to provide them financial products and services that fit their needs. Jeff Thomas has been promoted to region president for the Capital/ South Davis Region for Zions Bank. He previously served as senior vice president and manager of Executive Banking. Thomas was re- cently presented the Utah Business Magazine “Sales and Marketer of the Year” Award. The SAMY awards recognize Utah’s top sales and marketing talent — professionals who have had a measurable impact on their company’s bottom line. Brandon Toyn has been appointment to serve as branch manager for Bank of Utah's corporate office. Toyn previously served as a small business specialist and as branch manager for both Chase and Zions Bank. In his new position, Toyn will be responsible for: employee training and feedback; maintaining and enhancing customer relationships; implementing new products, pro- motions and incentive programs, and encouraging staff participation. He will also maintain security controls to protect against criminal or fraudulent activity. n
