Issue 1. 2018 25 KEYBANK Art Works for Kids KeyBank recently presented a $5,000 grant to Art Works for Kids in support of the organization’s Utah Senate Art Contest. Art Works for Kids provides support to educators and arts organiza- tions that provide innovative and sequential fine arts education for the children of Utah. The theme of this year’s Senate Art Contest was “The People and Places of Utah,” for which 200 students submitted artwork. Par- ticipants include students in 9th – 12th grade from high schools throughout the state. The top 28 pieces were selected by a panel of judges, and the student artists who created the winning pieces received scholarships to help offset the cost of future education- al pursuits. Students were also recognized on the Senate floor for their excellent work, and selected pieces were displayed in the cap- itol for public viewing. Beth Mooney, Banker of the Year KeyCorp’s chairman and chief executive officer Beth Mooney was recently named 2017 Banker of the Year by American Bank- er. Mooney, who is the first female CEO of a Top 20 U.S. bank, was awarded the Banker of the Year designation largely for her handling of Key’s $4.1 billion merger with First Niagara Finan- cial Group. In naming Mooney Banker of the Year, American Banker de- scribes her as “one of the industry’s most ethical and civic-minded leaders,” noting Key’s increased investment in community revital- ization and the development of products and services geared to- ward underserved consumers under her leadership. Mooney was named American Banker’s Most Powerful Woman in Banking in 2013, 2014 and 2015, becoming the inaugural mem- ber of the publication’s Hall of Fame in 2016 LEWISTON STATE BANK “Cindy Johnson, Vice President, Lewiston State Bank was recent- ly presented with the Woman in Business Award by the Cache Chamber of Commerce at their Annual Awards Banquet. This award recognizes women who have positively impacted business and promoted women through- out their career. Cindy has been a trailblazer and industry leader spanning nearly 30 years. Her contributions have been recognized locally as well as by the Governor. Beyond her role at Lewiston State Bank she has participated on numerous boards and com- mittees that have advanced our industry and women in business. One of the highlights mentioned was the amount of time she has dedicated to the Women in Business scholarship program which awards scholarships to women studying a business field. Congrat- ulations to Cindy!” ZIONS BANK Dianne James, Zions Bancor- poration, Honored at the 2018 Sundance FilmFestival Wom- en’s Leadership Celebration Dianne James, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Zions Bancorporation, was recently honored for her leadership in human resources at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival Wom- en’s Leadership Celebration in Park City, Utah. She has also been named a 2018 HR Achievement Award honoree by Utah Business magazine and the Utah Society for Hu- man Resource Management. James oversees compensation, benefits, payroll, recruiting, employee engagement, learning and leadership development, talent management and succession plan- ning. She sits on Zions Bancorporation’s Executive Management Committee, Zions Bank’s Executive Management Committee, In- centive Compensation Oversight Committee, Incentive Compen- sation Committee, Risk Management Committee, and the Benefits Management Committee. Zions Bank Ranked Top Provider of U.S. Small Business Admin- istration (SBA) 7(a) Loans in the Utah District Zions Bank ranked as the top provider of U.S. Small Business Ad- ministration (SBA) 7(a) loans in the Utah District in fiscal year 2017. Zions Bank approved 187 SBA loans, or 17 percent of those in the Utah District, totaling more than $30.7 million. Additionally, Zions Bank continues to be a leader in marketing SBA loans to women- and minority-owned businesses. Zions Bank Celebrates It’s Annual “Lights On” Event In December 2017, Zions Bank celebrated 47 years of its annual “Lights On” event, in which local elementary schools across Utah go to their local Zions Bank financial center and help decorate holi- day trees with handmade ornaments. Tooele High School Student Wins $1000 Scholarship in Video Contest Ryan Callister, a student from Tooele High School, entered a video competition through Zions Bank and won a $1,000 scholarship for his creativity and powerful message about saving money. The schol- arship was in partnership with the American Bankers Association’s 2017-2018 Lights, Camera, Save! video contest. n
